Fantastic Album (But don't buy it here)

This album is truly a fantastic achievement by Jordi Savall and his cohorts, who continue to amaze with the breadth of their musical knowledge and commitment and quality of playing. This also happens to be the furthest reaching (geographically) release yet, culling music from Japan and India, all played with great verve and authenticity. That it all manages to congeal and sound like a genuine musical dialectic about the life of Francisco Javier — as opposed to a hodgepodge for hodgepodge's sake — makes this album a must-have for period-instrument aficionados but anyone interested in the ways that musical surveys can truly give the measure of a life. That being said, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ALBUM FROM ITUNES. Several of the tracks here are cut off in the middle from a failed ripping onto iTunes server. I've contacted them several times about it, and they have not yet fixed the disc. I wonder if this lack of attention to detail would pass muster with a Miley Cyrus album...
