Not bad at all.

John Lawton’s first album with Uriah Heep. Not bad, really, even though it still pales when compared to Heep’s early albums. Nice, soothing, fantasy like cover. The music sounds like the cover. My favorite song is The Hanging Tree. Been Away Too Long is also good, especially the beginning, which reminds me of mellow Rainbow. I always thought that John Lawton joined the wrong band; with his similarity voice-wise to the singers that Ritchie Blackmore worked with, he would have been a perfect replacement for Ronnie James Dio in Rainbow. This album is definitely worth a listen.

from 1970-1973 you could get the big bang from heep albums, after that just fizzle.
