SO EXCITED for this album… no mythologies to follow was an absolute masterpiece
Great Pop song. Still missing the NMTF gloominess
"Final Song" is a super catchy pop song. An extension of “Kamikaze", but better.
However - as a long-time Mø fan, I cannot help but miss the darker uniqueness of my favorite Mø songs like “Waste of Time”, “Fire Rides”, “Slow Love”, “Pilgrim” - really most of NMTF.
The “new sound” - the slick production, the poppy beats, less mournful singing - has cousins on NMTF (“XXX 88”,”Don’t Wanna Dance”) but it still feels "less Mø” and more likely to get lost in the sea of poppy dance songs out there. Hope the upcoming album brings back some of the “old” Mø edge. While “Lean on” maybe Mø’s most successful tune, it is not the best - by a long shot.
A trillion times YES~ (づ￣ ³￣)づ♫
I was a bit late to the party in discovering her (as well as consuming her debut NMTF), but being along for the ride this past year has made me crave EVERY little thing she has to offer with her second album. Karen has most definitely made her mark on the industry (as well as my own self), and has slowly but surely become one of my favourite singer-songwriters of ever. Best thing about her: she doesn't care too much about what she looks like when performing and such. She just gets crazy powerful/inspirational when she sings as if she's tapping into some Goddess' power; the energy is so real and just hits so hard. "Final Song" is absolute bliss~ :D♫❥
