With his second recording dedicated to the works of Schubert, pianist David Fray presents an explosive performance focused on the composer’s late works. Among the set is Schubert’s last sonata for piano, the serene “Fantasie” (Piano Sonata No. 18 in G Major, D. 894) and his "Hungarian Melody." The album offers a particular highlight when Fray is joined by his mentor, Jacques Rouvier, for two works composed in the last year of Schubert’s life: Fantasia in F Minor for Piano Four Hands and the so-called “Lebensstürme” (or “Storms of Life”), Allegro in A Minor for Piano Four Hands.
