EDITORS’ NOTES

Chris Brown and Tyga released the mixtape Fan of a Fan in 2010. Since then, their music has often dedicated itself to the pursuit of of wealth and women–such is the dominance of those tropes on this full-album follow-up. The infectious “Ayo” and “Nothin’ Like Me” are the standout bangers, but the pair are at their most engaging with regret thrown into the mix (“Better”) and when the braggadocio becomes less sexualized on the austere, bullish “D.G.I.F.U.”–which features a typically impeccable verse from Pusha T.

Please STOP!

For those who are criticizing this and saying it lacks creative or innovative lyricism, please stop. This is obviously an album made full of mainstream party music. I'm positive Chris not Tyga were going in trying to create the most lyrically and conceptually captivating album w/ this project. That's what the solo projects are for. You all are very close minded if you think music is all about that. I love music with content and creative lyricism. But for the most part no one wants to party to that type of music. This type of music has its own lane. If you want content w/ conceptual and soul driven songs, listen to a solo project from Chris. In the mean time allow musicians to be as creative as they want and respect the art.

I'll pass

They make no attempt at real lyricism. Every song sounds the same. I think I'll wait for kendrick lamars next album
