On their 2004 American debut, Peter Bjorn and John put plenty of sour in their sweet pop. "I love to see you cry," Peter Morén sneers over throbbing bass on the psychedelia-touched "Money," just one of many cutting comebacks concealed in the trio's scrappy, feel-good indie rock. "Far Away, By My Side" moves with the swagger of The Jam and "Big Black Coffin" yearns with Britpop brio, while The Concretes' "Teen Love" gets turned into a shambolic rocker that’s sealed with a Joe Strummer snarl.
