Her best yet??

A gorgeous, haunting album that hits you on first listen, but deepens the second, fifth, and eightieth time. Songs that seem pleasant become unbearably beautiful, such as Snow and Lo. The entire album is consistent yet varied, the orchestration subtle but colorful, and her voice like a dozen characters acting out a tortured relationship. I always find her music melancholy but consoling, making me happy to be sad; or content in my discontent. But this album fulfills the promise of her two previous efforts, and establishes her as a major artist. I can’t think of anyone I’d rather listen to late into the night.
