Brandon Heath wrote “Faith Hope Love Repeat” upon learning that he was going to be a father, and the song tackles the mixed feelings many first-time dads have—anxiety over the uncertain state of the world, yet determination to raise the child in joy and wonder. The rest of the album is similarly focused; “The Future Is Bright,” for example, acknowledges the grimness of the daily news cycle, but also looks upward and outward in Christian hope. Throughout, Heath is buoyed by sturdy songcraft, everyman appeal, and tasteful, grown-up pop production.
