EDITORS’ NOTES

The long-awaited sequel to the Swiss folk-metal crew's 2009 acoustic album, Evocation I – The Arcane Dominion, Pantheon sees the nine-piece troupe going unplugged again. Relying on bagpipes, mandolas, fiddles, and hurdy-gurdies to conjure medieval melodies, Eluveitie founder Chris “Chrigel” Glanzmann and his ensemble have forged another collection of vibrant folk songs, each named after a different Celtic god. Chrigel and vocalist Fabienne Erni add another layer of authenticity by singing the entire album in the old Celtic tongue of Gallic.
