Worth the Wait

Josie Cotton has finally released what was to be her follow up to the brilliant albums “Convertible Music” and “From the Hip.” Josie tells the story in various recent interviews as to why the record company didn’t release it, how the tapes were lost and why a call for unreleased 80’s music by the hit show “Stranger Things” ultimately led to the discovery and release of this album. Sure, “Everything is Oh Yeah” feels like the opening of a time capsule, but in the best way possible – the lid is popped off with anticipation, captures your interest and delivers on it’s worth of being included. Josie’s voice is fabulous, it’s fun, pure (and yet can be gritty) and always creates a character with a story.

I always see Josie as the beautiful cool girl who defies her “in crowd” label because she’d rather hang with the geeks in drama, band and science.

The songs on this album run the gamut from 80’s pop to 60’s girl group to rockabilly and punk. Oh yeah, it’s got everything.”
