This arrangement is amazing, it was used very often when I was in choir learning to perform some of Eric whitacre's compositions and has always been my expectation of what the flow of polyphony should sound like. Gorgeous collection and I love how each song is performed. Get this

The Best Whitacre Album, Bar None

Light & Gold is a great album, but "Cloudburst" still has my favorite recordings of Whitacre's music (too bad Polyphony didn't record Leonardo). My favorite choral album ever. Not only are the singers incredible professionals with exceptional technique and musicianship, but Layton left it all out on the court in parts like "On the beach" in A Boy and A Girl, the climax of Sleep, and the incredible buildup of tone clusters early on in When David Heard (1:01-2:10). Absolutely sublime calculation was taken here to execute the harmonies that are more clear and striking than they are in the BYU albums. I think the Eric Whitacre Singers are likely equal caliber musicians as Polyphony, but the way these pieces were conducted is what puts this Whitacre album above all the rest.

Sleep.

This song is utterly amazing. Tender, powerful and haunting. I write and use music to fire my creativity. This song is truly a great work.
