Brilliant album

I've been following The Alarm since the 1980s and am blown away by the crisp, modern, and catchy sound of Equals. These are some of The Alarm's best songs ever: from the heady pop-rock of Coming Backwards to the transcendental beauty of Transatlantic to my personal favorite, Cenotaph, one of the best rock songs of the decade. This band can rock, and lays down some unforgettable riffs that will stay with you a long time. An absolute must for anyone who treasures the best of modern rock-n-roll.

Hold on a minute...

I was surprised to see this announced by Mike Peters today as an album of all new material. All but two tracks on 'Equals' appear to come from the Band's last two releases: 'Blood Red' & 'Viral Black'. Granted these were only available from the band's website. Looks like six of 'Viral' and three from 'Blood'. I didn't hear any difference in 'Beautiful' to the version on 'Viral' so I don't see this as re-recorded material. This is a good set of songs for casual fans of the band but nothing new for those with more than a passing interest.

Addition: seems that ‘Coming Backwards’ IS a different version. Nice! (6/29)

Plugged Back In!!!

Acoustic stuff was great. I listened to it all. The Alarm is back, Locked, Loaded, and fronting positive energy. POWAH is back on.
