Good Start

I loved their debut album “The Finer Things”, so naturally, I had to buy their entire discography. On this debut ep, you can tell they are a much younger band, and not as matured yet. Vocally, Derek’s voice is definitely still one of the better ones in the genre, but he has improved a lot since this. Lyrically, it’s not the best but not the worst. Standard for pop punk. Instrumentally it’s alright, the only main issue is that the songs tend to sound the same minus the acoustic closer, so everything kind of blends together. Nothing really stands out. My favorite tracks are “The Record” and “Stick Around”, the latter being the best on the EP. Overall, while not a great ep, it is definitely good, and worth it for hardcore fans out there if you’re looking to see their roots.
