EDITORS’ NOTES

Dissatisfied with 2016’s vitriolic T.C.R. EP, Sleaford Mods motormouth Jason Williamson resolved to move on from spontaneous ranting on this LP. Andrew Fearn’s austere beats still hammer away relentlessly, but hooks have crept into their sardonic dispatches from Brexit Britain (“Army Nights,” “Snout”), and a more pensive tone suits Williamson as he skewers corporate greed on “B.H.S.” “I Feel So Wrong” even evokes a no-budget Massive Attack with simmering paranoia and a sung—sung!—chorus.

Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics.

It will ruin all other music

I am so hooked on Sleaford Mods and this record in particular. I wake up with "Snout" stuck in my head. Ultra-stripped down, angry, and hilarious. All other music seems frivolous now. A must have.
