Some nine months after his underrated Más Negro Que Rojo full-length, which featured notable cuts “Bandida” and “Hecha Pa' Mí,” the Panamanian up-and-comer returns with this three-track EP that maintains the vibrant energy of his debut. Boza represents an invigorating strain of popwise reggaetón that draws significantly on R&B flows and dancehall vibes, all of which appear prominently on Ella. The title track revels in its breezy island groove, while “No Sé Qué” adds a layer of emotional fog to the mix. Closer “Por Ti” rounds things out with a minimalist dance-floor twist akin to what one expects from the Afrobeats scene, another indicator that Boza is here to stay.
