"Por La Maceta Y Mas"!!

There is something special about a Vibe-Driven sound especially when performed within the Salsa Gorda genre. This L.A. based group is drinking some serious "Kool-Aid" out there on the West Coast because this production is top-notch. They came out swinging and "atacando" from the first track to the last. In boxing terms, I had to take a "standing out eight count" when I first heard "El Colibri", "Chata Kun-Kun" and "El Sazon". The vocal chops delivered by George Balmaseda, Johnny Crespo, and Victor Muniz are terrific. Please check out George Balmaseda reinterpret Polo Montanez' "Quien Sera". This release "Esta Por La Maceta" and easily a Top 10 Salsa Dura Pick For 2011. Vaya!

World Class Ear Candy!

Lucky 7 Mambo is, for all intents and purposes an all-star band that happens to be based in Los Angeles. Each member has played with world-class musicians in a variety of different genres to raise the professional bar of this work way beyond the local level. Incredibly talented, their collective love of music resonates clearly to create a fresh, sublime sound that is hard to manufacture in the well-worn world of salsa music. Dancers can enjoy the provocative breaks and swing, while the rest can let the mesmerizing vibes lure them into a rhythmic heaven. There is something on this disc for everyone and some of the best treats are found in the interludes, from the delicious vocal harmony on the Intro to El Colibri, to the sweet vibes on Chata Kun-Kun. Outstanding job, guys and I look forward to dancing to your tunes for years to come!
