EDITORS’ NOTES

How does a down-to-earth rock band follow up a runaway pop hit? On Egomaniac, KONGOS confront the outsized expectations that followed the success of “Come With Me Now." They take their success with a wink on “I Want It Free” and “Take It From Me.” “The World Would Run Better” skewers celebrity megalomania and their frivolous demands. Fans who fell in love with the band’s vibrant sound—the slide guitar, accordion, and bounce-house rhythms—will be thrilled that KONGOS stayed true to themselves on Egomaniac. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Not Lunatic

A lot of people must not have heard their 1st actual self titled release in 2007 with "In The Music", this is the 3rd album just not all with a major label. While Egomaniac has a nice sound it is definitely not Lunatic. That was such a great album that it would be hard to beat and in my humble opinion this album doesn't quite hit the mark like Lunatic did. Good not Great... a little too soft.
