Often the artists helming Apple Music’s exclusive Early Hours DJ mix series cater to both frames of mind, but for Bristol heavyweight Batu, the intention is to prolong the hang just a little longer. “This mix captures the energy of being with a few good friends after a night out,” he tells Apple Music. “It’s for those moments where you still want something driving, but also deep and intimate.” There’s something sentimental about a long night coming to an end, he says. “Nostalgia becomes really powerful, and especially in a small group of friends, you can feel so much shared empathy. You can share the music that’s really special to you.”
