California's Finest

The Dust Up soundtrack is a mind altering ride through a bizarre desert landscape, dotted with psychedellic characters and sounds. A collaboration mainly between director Ward Roberts and creative powerhouses Spindrift and Gram Rabbit, the album weaves dialog and sound from the film with alternate and exclusive song versions as well as compositions written specifically for the film. The result is a rare treat for fans of these Southern California staples and the perfect primer for the newly converted. Also, if you haven't already, check out the film itself. It's got it all, cannibalism, meth use, blood and guts, a hipster Indian, not to mention Buffy the vampire slayer's lesbian pal. Its kind of grind house, very western, totally gross, at moments tender and moving, completely hilarious and overwhelmingly fun.
