Wish Josh would get back to this

Josh has some great albums, and his first ranks as one of his best. Harder rocking than his newer, too easy listening and not compelling releases. It's a great mix of rock, alt country, folk, and just plain old alternative music - the kind that use to excite you. Late Night Conversation is one of his best tunes. Other stand outs include Dressed up..., Flair, Simple Thing, Lavina, and I like getting lost in "White Trash Period...". Please Josh, come back to music with spine!

The Shooting Star

In 1998, Josh Rouse's release of Dressed Up Like Nebraska streaked across the skies like a bright, brilliant shooting star. His first six tracks are still essential, especially "Dressed Up Like Nebraska" & "Late Night Conversation." The rhythm section plays a constant driving pulse while the melodies seem to perform a moth dance around a flame. David Henry & Josh Rouse produced. Twenty years later I still listen to these tracks, gaze at the 1960s black & white photos from the CD, and think that this treasure was a result from out of this world. I have had a standing order to buy every Josh Rouse album ever since.
