EDITORS’ NOTES

This double-album tour de force was a notable statement of stylistic versatility from the jazz keyboardist. The first set features his suave acoustic trio playing originals (and Monk). On the second, Glasper switches to Rhodes and plays with his R&B fusion Experiment ensemble (also suave—and expert with Hancock’s “Butterfly”).

Song Error

For some reason my phone or computer will not play "Downtime". I want a refund for that song, the rest of them are great.

I like a few songs but...

it became kind of jarring after a while. There was simply too much hard bop/experimential-type "rhythm disruption" for my taste. I went ahead and purchased the album because the 2 songs I wanted were album only (sigh). Although I prefer more melodic flows, I did find this to be a nice shake up to what I usually listen to.
