James Harman - Cards On The Table

James Harman is a blues harmonica player with a capable band. Sort of a poor man's Fabulous Thunderbirds. Unfortunately, on this album, they just don't have the same amount of polish. The production here sounds a little muffled, the musicianship is just OK, the songwriting a little uninspired. That's not to say this is a bad album. It's just sort of average. If you're a blues fan, you'll still be able to find some things you'll like (my favorite is probably Temporary Blues). Just don't expect too much.
I've heard some other James Harman Band material that was much better, so perhaps this just wasn't their best outing.
