Editors’ Notes The grief-stained Dig Deep was recorded as After the Burial coped with the sudden death of guitarist Justin Lowe. Downplaying their progressive tendencies, the group instead express their anguish by ratcheting up the ferocity of their djent-style chugging. On the thrashing “Collapse,” the band threaten to rip apart their own polyrhythmic motor. Equally unhinged is “Mire,” which fluctuates between deathcore blitz and jagged groove work. And be sure to blast the ending of the funereal “Heavy Lies the Ground”; it’s the sickest 30 seconds on the entire album.
