One of the most unique albums I've heard in a while

I'm a newcomer to the Hugh Laurie bandwagon, but I can already tell it's going to be an awesome ride. This album combines various genres of music to complete what I would call an edgy, but very well done compliment of pre-modern music (in the best of ways). From the first song, it was very clear that Laurie was not afraid with experimenting and mixing with some older genres/styles of music, and bringing them to the new age. Some songs make me feel like I'm listening to a tune from the 40s in high definition. Others make me feel like I'm in a New Orleans waltz-line dance club (weird [but awesome] right?). Overall, this is a great album with serious potential. It takes risks that I haven't heard or seen in years (in modern music)--and each was executed perfectly with passion, respect, and sustainability. Well done. Recommended to any one who appreciates music enough to recognize and experience some serious "mixing" and experimentation.
