Severely underrated!!

These guys are awesome and this album is no exception. I wish they would get more attention, simply stellar musicians.

Better thae ever

Rumors of a new Enchant album began to circulate around 2009, six years after the last Enchant album “Tug of War”. At this point, I had no hopes for a new Enchant album. I was quite content and eternally grateful to the universe for the gift of seven amazing albums of intelligent, emotional, technical masterpieces of progressive rock that Enchant had produced so far. But then 2014 came along and Enchant released their eighth and “comeback” album “The Great Divide”. Enchant did not miss a beat; there is no “ring rust” on this one. On the contrary, it seems as if they used the eleven years since their last album to improve musicianship, live life, and then come together to create songs that incorporate everything they have learned and done previously, while infusing it with new energy and progressive rock spirit. There is no “sagging middle” here. All of the tracks seem to stand out for me. After two years of listening and making the songs a part of my life, I am even more impressed with Enchant and “The Great Divide”.
I love songs like “Circles”, “The Great Divide”, “Deserve to Feel”, “Prognosticator” (my all-time favorite Enchant instrumental) because they are written by the whole band.
I had the awesome pleasure to see Enchant perform live for the first time in my 22 years as a fan in 2015; they sounded great, all the old songs had new life injected into them, and the new songs were played with vigor and joy. Enchant truly enjoys what they do. I sometimes feel bad that they don’t get the recognition they truly deserve, but then I am consoled because I know that Enchant create their music out of pure joy and love.
The Great Divide is #1 on my personal ranking of Enchant’s eight studio albums. I love Enchant’s music! Please give them a listen if you haven’t already.
