4 Songs, 12 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

Less than a year after their full-length debut, hardcore supergroup Dead Cross return with a frenetic four-song EP. Surging leadoff track “Skin of a Redneck” sees Faith No More vocalist Mike Patton howling about monkeys, scorpions, and a “neon galaxy of lies,” while former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo unloads a percussive whirlwind. “My Perfect Prisoner” is a frantic punk stomper led by Michael Crain’s demented, deep-fried guitars. The EP closes with awesomely bizarre and heavily techno-fied remixes of “Shillelagh” and “Church of the Motherfuckers.”

Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics.

Music is so lost

When guys like Faith No More's Patton scream incoherently and Slayer's Lombardo gives us a boring drum lesson beat, music has lost its way. There are very few bands out there now that remember what music is suppose to do, move us. Make us feel something more than OUCH MY EARS HURT AT THIS B.S. You see it everywhere, these guys from back in the day churning out crap based on their name alone without substance... It is disheartening.
