Wohl's debut album highlighted the composer's active, glitch-processing compositional approach right out of the gate. His follow-up allows things to build more deliberately, but no less dramatically. “Replicate,” a two-movement piece for Wohl’s electronics and the Iktus percussion group, has a timbral range that rewards a long attention span. (The second part also deals out reams of satisfying riffs.) The highlight, however, may be “Source,” in which two standout new-classical singers, Olga Bell and Caroline Shaw, enter into a dialog with Wohl’s dreamscape of shuddering electronic arrangements.
