Though their passports say they’re from Toronto and their current zip code plants them in LA, the duo of Rafaele Massarelli and Vince Sasso—aka Crash Adams—really live inside the soft-focus fantasy universe of their own creation: a place where it’s always summer, the drinks are always flowing, and the party never ends. Channeling the high-energy, irrepressibly funky alt-pop of Maroon 5, WALK THE MOON, and DNCE, Crashing Into Your Living Room, Vol. 1 homes in on the those moments in life that you wish you could freeze-frame and inhabit forever, be it the love-at-first-sight vignette of “Good Side” or the epic-bender nostalgia of “Somewhere in Vegas.” The EP also includes a reprise of the duo’s viral 2022 hit “Give Me a Kiss,” a tune that perfectly encapsulates both Crash Adams’ anthemic ambitions and their everydude relatability: There are a million songs out there that capture the heart-pounding rush of falling in love, but this may be the only one where the relationship is consummated after some late-night McDonald’s takeout.
