It should come as no surprise that Charlie Worsham has a long list of friends in country music. The singer-songwriter and guitarist has not only built a solo career of his own over the last decade, but has lent his formidable talents to several other artists, like his stint playing with Old Crow Medicine Show and his time spent touring as part of Dierks Bentley’s band. Worsham rounds up a handful of his most talented pals for this EP, tapping another friend, The Cadillac Three’s Jaren Johnston, to produce the five-pack of collabs. Compadres opens with “Handful of Dust,” a Patty Loveless cover featuring a pitch-perfect duet with Lainey Wilson. Luke Combs joins Worsham on “How I Learned To Pray,” an emotional reprisal of a fan-favorite track from Worsham’s 2013 debut album Rubberband. And Bentley and Worsham further deepen their collaborative connection on “Things I Can’t Control,” a midtempo ode to going with the flow. Other guests include Kip Moore on “Kiss Like You Dance” and Elle King on “Creekwater Clear.”
