A modern classic for an age old genre

This album is a standard in my opinion. Norah showcases her amazing, smokey voice and impressive piano chops while keeping things approachable enough to draw in the non-jazz crowd. Turn Me On, Come Away With Me, and Nearness of You all smack of Ella Fitzgerald and the like while songs like Feelin' the Same Way, Seven Years, and Shoot the Moon are reminiscent of folk/country albums of the 50's and such. This is an absolutely amazing and completely enthralling album from start to finish and a must have for any vocal jazz/singer songwriter fan.

I hate to be the cliche's/that guy but whatever..

Come Away Norah transforms my whole being, my cognitive thoughts and behaviors as well as commanding my soul with my heart in tow as if literally following you whatever the song ends up as the journey continues (in my sub conscious) praying that I never wake up..just as long that during this solid moment you drive that slow down the same highway singing the song to me as if I was the last concert ever, or your one and only or anything to get u to spill out those lyrics occasionally glancing over at me (tear...tisk...tear💧).

The Norah Intro

I was 14 when this album came out and I fell in love with this classic album that I still enjoy to this day. Highlights are Don’t Know Why, Cold Cold Heart, Come Away With Me, Lonestar, I Have to See You Again, Painter Song, and The Nearness of You.

I also remember her winning lots of Grammys!
