The other Morricone

Though he's not nearly as well known here as Morricone, Piccioni wrote scores for bunches of Italian spy-crime-sex movies in the 60s and 70s, and there's a lot of great stuff on them. He was more diverse than Morricone, actually, more like a John Barry -- he could write silly pop tunes (like the title track of 10th Victim), psychedelic-y rock (like Lsd here), excellent Mancini-style lounge jazz, big brassy numbers, swingin' exotica (China Town Drugs) -- you name it. If you like, say, the James Bond music of the era, you should taste this Italian version.
