The Score Fits

Although I like Harry Gregson-Williams better, this score really fits the movie. It's soft and beautiful.

Much loved & yet much missed...

A beautiful soundtrack to an extraordinary film! I especially loved how they incorporated a brief excerpt from the original Narnia theme. Shame though, that there are so many pieces, yet so little music to each of them... As to Harry Gregson-Williams, he defined and completely immersed you into the very core of the story of Narnia. Each of his score pieces translated emotion and one could immediately visualize the scene to which it was composed simply by listening to the piece. As much as I loved David Arnolds approach to the film, none of the music was memorable to me and as previously, did not enhance the scene to make it even more powerful, without overwhelming the actual scene itself. Harry Gregson-Williams's music has always been one of a kind-absolutely stunning and unique, particularly that of the Narnia films. He's touched me to tears every time I listen to underlying magic and depth that lies within each note. Mr. Williams, your music is most definitely missed and I will always be thinking what beautiful character and emphasis you could have expressed through your marvelous compositions for the Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

High King and Queen!

I'm so thrilled with this latest soundtrack. It's a little softer than the others, minus all the huge epic battle scores. I don't know if that's because there are no epic battles or because of this composer, but either way I love it. I haven't gotten the chance to see the movie yet, but I read the book. the book was boring, but the movie looks really good! This soundtrack adds something new to the Narnia legacy, it just has a different feel to it. I still love it! I nearly exploded when I first saw the preview for the movie, and hope to see it soon. And to whoever said this sounds like other Narnias, that's sort of the point, isn't it? They're all in a series, the themes should be brought back. I mean look at the latest Harry Potter, there wasn't a hint of any previous themes, so the audiance wasn't as happy. If there weren't any common themes here, others wouldn't be happy. But it seems like we just can't please everybody. Anyway, I like Gregson-Williams better, but this is still good. Favorite? High King and Queen, obviously! Also see Kings and Queens of old from the second soundtrack, it's awesome!
