Mauricio Guim ,

Look elsewhere

He has a good sound, but he style is full of mannerisms and excessive rubbatos. This is not Chopin. He used to say that if you want to learn how to play his music you first have to learn how to sing... The way he plays them here makes it impossible for the listener to understand how should a singer sing these melodies. Where is he breathing, whete is he pausing, is the flow of the music the flow of the natural voice? If you are looking for this, go luck elsewhere. If you want a different Chopin in the style of Lang Lang this is not bad.

Ugh

Another lackluster Chopin disc. It seems that everyone is recording them these days, and none of them are worth listening to. -Bz
