Great stories on these tracks and a great soulful singer who helped shape the history of rock music

This album is great. Genya Ravan has such a unique voice and here she uses it to tell stories about her life as a lady rocker. The songs are honest and from the heart and she tells each with soul, as she always has. We need more music like this on the radio. Also here is "Do You Know What I Mean," a little different from the others but Genya has basically stolen this song from Lee Michaels—Ms. Ravan owns it now. This song is played on Sirius/XM pretty often. It would be nice if they would play more of the other tracks from this CD. The songs on this CD stand alone and the stories cover a range of emotions, but it is very interesting to read her book, Lollypop Lounge, to get a better understanding of where Goldie has been, how she got to where she is now, and why she is such an important person in rock history. I think Cheesecake Girl is an important record. A piece of rock history, or "her-story" depending on your perspective.
