EDITORS’ NOTES

Noel Gallagher started writing “Lock All the Doors” in the early ’90s, just before he skyrocketed to fame for his work in Oasis. Full of soaring guitars and pounding drums, the now-finished track is a clear highlight on Chasing Yesterday, the British rock legend’s second full-length under his High Flying Birds moniker. But “Lock All the Doors” is no throwback, and Chasing Yesterday isn't as nostalgic as its title suggests. Together, they’re a confident display of Gallagher’s evolving ear for deeply melodic, innately anthemic rock, as heard again in the jazz-infused psychedelia of “Riverman” and the Johnny Marr–aided operatics of the closer, “Ballad of the Mighty I.”

Bang on brilliant pop

I hate to even call it pop because it is just that good, this album’s sound just gets right under your skin and insinuates itself as a statement of pure, sonic delight. The auditory equivalent of sucking a lime and chasing it with a spoonful of sugar. And how the medicine goes down! If you liked the High Flying Birds' first offering, this you will come to love.

Simply Amazing!!

From start to finish, this album delivers! Incredible diversity and creative flow. Production and musicianship is first grade. What a journey! As much as I'm troubled by IkIk's comments…that's what music is all about, individual tastes and interpretation; so, good for you! Thank you Noel!!

Loving the Brit Rock

It is wonderful to have new Brit Rock again. We haven’t had any really decent sound coming from the UK in the past few years and it is really refreshing to hear this. It is obvious now that the real talent in Oasis was with Noel.

Congrats Mr. Gallagher.
