No slump

The Lonely Wild has not only managed to avoid the dreaded sophomore slump, but has put together a superb second album. A deep theme matched with excellent musical maturity. At some point in the album every member shines. They give you horns, harmonies, thumping drums and even guitar solos slightly reminiscent of classic rock. Ultimately though, they give you an album that has a consistent theme with great songs start to finish. It is very much a complete album which I've had on repeat since purchased.

This album is one of the most amazing efforts of any band on the music scene today. It clearly should have been on the iTunes featured page upon its release. The talent and creativity exhibited by this band is so unusual today. The versatility and ability of each band member to play multiple instruments is very impressive. The impassioned vocals, beautiful harmonies, creative orchestrations, intricate rhythms, variety of song styles, and heartfelt lyrics set this band apart from the typical hum-drum stuff we are commonly exposed to today. This is not just a collection of songs, it is a musical painting. Their musical style cannot be pigeonholed in any particular genre. That would be too limiting. Want to be blown away? Buy this album. Let the music world know that we're tired of the same old crap. Did I mention that you can understand the lyrics?

I saw The Lonely Wild at The Echo on the night of the release for this album. Seeing them live was quite the experience and I decided to buy this album physically. I was absolutely blown away by the artistry of this band and their chosen textures. This album is a beautiful experience and everyone should purchase it to support this band. Most definitely my best purchase of the year!
