Through 10 albums and nearly two decades, Primal Scream have proved one of rock’s great chameleonic bands. Their 11th is a stylish, zeitgeisty set that mines their dance-pop prowess. “Trippin’ on Your Love” is a shameless slice of Screamadelica-like baggy fun complete with a Haim vocal assist, “Where the Light Gets In” pits Bobby Gillespie against Sky Ferreira in an irresistible space pop duel, while the rock of “Golden Rope” features considerable crunch. But it’s not all knockabout fun: Gillespie allows some rare introspection on the throbbing “(Feeling Like A) Demon Again” and mournful “I Can Change”.
