Car Therapy - EP

Car Therapy - EP

Arriving just a few months after Some Day This Will All Make Sense, a confessional audiovisual project of cosmic slow jams about learning to trust her inner voice, Brittney Bosco shares Car Therapy, a tight-knit EP centered around the theme of escapism. It’s an exploratory project for the Atlanta multi-hyphenate—who works across music, fashion, and art, and recently established her own imprint, Slug Records—and finds her reaching outside of emotive R&B for the first time in years. “Changes” begins with lush, sultry vocals before making a magnificent left turn into gritty, assertive indie rock, and “Carousel” featuring DIXSON threads off-kilter, psychedelic melodies into classic R&B beats. The influence of Frank Ocean’s lonely nonchalance can be heard throughout the EP, but is perhaps most evident on “Greenlight” featuring Dana Williams, BOSCO’s version of a highway song that casually shifts from lullaby to power ballad to chattering confessional while a muffled car stereo crackles in the background.
