Ratings and Reviews
I, too, won't stoop to attack the first review. But at the same time, I'm not entirely thrilled with this version of "Cannonball". I purchased the "O" album after hearing "Volcano", and I much prefer the original version of the tune. While I think Rice deserves MUCH more attention in the States, that anyone felt the song needed drums to make it "commercially viable" is a sad commentary. It's a great song, but give the original a listen. I'm taking a star for "tweaking" it for the mass market.
Not as good as the original
This is the weakest of the three versions of Cannonball on iTunes. The album version is beautiful! Definitely a five-star song! The other single is also very good, with just a solo guitar and voice - very intimate sounding. This one isn't too bad, but not as good as the others.
I'm not going to get on here and express how dumb the first review is, but I did have to get on here and balance things out a little - when I saw that this single (ep?) was given one star it motivated me to get on here and leave a more worthy review. This song is amazing, actually "Moody Mooday" is also outstanding, I love Damien Rice, but there was a time when this specific song, "Cannonball", became a favorite, and in certain aspects, aided in getting me through some hard times...wow, it's just one song right? Really though...it's that good.
