Twin brothers Will and Matt Ritson grew up in south London, but going by their debut, you’d think they came of age in the New York punk funk scene of the early 2000s. With cowbells and sneery vocals galore, they make convincing peers of LCD Soundsystem, The Rapture and !!!. But they’re also definitively, defiantly British: there’s a neat line in cynicism on “Back Then,” Primal Scream’s decadent groove comes through on “On The Board”, while “Ring” ends in an overwhelming swirl of indie melancholia.
