Built For Whatever

Built For Whatever

With 2016’s “First Day Out,” Detroit’s Tee Grizzley established himself as one of the hungriest young MCs in the game. With “Grizzley Talk,” the opening track from his Built for Whatever album, he assures us that the only thing that’s changed in the five years since is his age. Big-name features across Built for Whatever (Quavo, Lil Durk, Young Dolph, Big Sean) and production from heavy hitters like Hit-Boy, Chopsquad DJ, and Helluva help to establish Grizzley’s rap game status, but the MC is hardly content to rest on his laurels. He’s rapping here like he’s still trying to make a name for himself, or, as he puts it on “Built to Last,” “Don’t gotta like me, but respect me, that’s what you gotta do.”
