Loving melancholy

April Smith has a compelling quality to her vocals that helps to give depth behind the wishful longing and tired resentment represented through her songs. This ability of hers can and will resonate with anyone familiar with failures and shortcomings within relationships. Certainly worthy of purchase, if not a listen, as is her more recent, light-hearted work, 'Songs for a Sinking Ship'.

Totally Different, Sets herself apart from all the others

I was blown away by April from the very start when I saw her performing locally here in Jersey. She completely floored when when she performed Janice Joplins Bobby McGee at a local bar. She did justice to the song. She doesnt have that "cookie cutter" voice that most female vocalists have nowadays. April Smith sounds like April Smith. Case Closed.
