EDITORS’ NOTES

After decades as a classic-rock staple, The Doors’ debut album still overflows with smoldering sensuality and moody, mysterious vibes. Jim Morrison’s dark, poetic vision powers the platter, from elegant ballad “The Crystal Ship” to doomy odyssey “The End.” But The Doors were a true collective, and Ray Manzarek’s deftly darting organ lines, Robbie Krieger’s serpentine guitar licks, and John Densmore’s jazzy drum rhythms are crucial to the sound of all-out rockers (“Take It As It Comes”) and atmospheric nocturnes (“End of the Night”) alike.

She Get... What?

The album itself is a classic and gets five stars, however buyer beware the versions of "Break On Through (To The Other Side)" and "The End" included are censored.

Disappointed berry ,

iTunes why?

I want my money back. It is 2014 and I can't hear Jim Morrison say high. Why did I buy this album? I am extremely disappointed and will not be buying another album on iTunes unless I have too. I hope you read reviews apple because this is very disappointing coming from someone who gives you at least 20 to 30 dollars a month I expect original material not edited for lack of a better word poop.

My Only Friend, The End

Wow, words can't describe the sheer magnitude of this album. From "Break On Through" to "The End," there are no flaws or weak points at all. Aside from "Light My Fire, " "The End" is my all time favorite Doors track ever! It's absolutely beautiful and haunting in every sense of the word. Also best record out of their entire discography as well. MUST BUY! It will change your life and interpretation of 60s psychedelic rock as you open the doors of perception
