Editors’ Notes Here’s a wildcard: Hard-talkin’, harder-rockin’, stiff-lipped country outlaw Shooter Jennings fashions a full-album tribute to disco wizard Giorgio Moroder, a.k.a. the guy responsible for the sound of Flashdance and The NeverEnding Story. Here’s a few more: It features Marilyn Manson singing David Bowie’s “Cat People,” a slinky, robotic interpolation of the Elvis standby “I’m Left, You’re Right, She’s Gone,” and the sound of Shooter’s dad, Waylon, being eclipsed by a UFO’s worth of synthesizers. The wildest wildcard of all? It works.
