It's pop. So what? Kevin left the magic in the cupboard...

I enjoyed inner speaker immensely. It had a cool retro psychedelic thing with a modern twist. Since then, Kevin's musings have simply become more and more ear candy pop.
That said, I suppose that's why tame impala has become so huge -giving the unconscious masses what they want -catchy, head-bobbing rehash. I keep hoping he'll veer into less obvious directions and more artsy a la Radiohead...he's got the skills to do it, but it's not looking good.

Overrated pop music

Tame Impala’s earlier music roped me in. I can listen to Innerspeaker over and over again. The last two albums sound as though they’ve become lazy in an edgy musical sense. Not a fan and don’t plan on buying their new stuff.
