Jobimbom ,

Delicious, tender and right on the money

While there are plenty of wonderful efforts out there to bring Bossa Nova into the twenty first century by blending it with newer musical forms, Ana Caram accomplishes this here without compromising what made the music so appealing from the beginning: its purity; its tenderness; its effortless expression within a complex harmonic context. The arrangments are true to the music's acoustic roots, yet infused with a subtle yet virtuosic intensity. The vocal performances are heartfelt and confident. Ms. Caram has fully absorbed the lessons of her mentor Tom Jobim, and his spirit inhabits this music.
