Reliably great viking metal!

Nothing wrong with the vocals here as some seemingly ignorant people are claiming. In fact the singer is quite intelligible rather than just grunting incoherently, which is always nice. The music is impeccable as always; I don’t get the complaints there either. Too much spoken word? That comprises what, a minute or two of a nearly hourlong album? Get over yourself. It’s a fun album with lots of variety and a couple very minor experiment touches that aren’t unwelcome at all. The hard work these guys clearly put into this album shouldn’t be so easily shrugged off; the laughable ignorance of some of these reviews makes me sick. These guys rule and they should be proud of this album!

Surprisingly good

First. If you don’t like death metal, don’t review the genre. Haha Cookie Monster very funny thanks for dragging the reviews down.

This is one of Amon amarth’s best albums to date. It stands next to vs the world and oden as their best work. Even though it’s rather lengthy it’s so well paced that it doesn’t get boring. I thought these guys were over the hill but Berserker proves they’re still inspired and full of great ideas.
