18 Songs, 1 Hour 10 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

Cracker’s 10th studio album (and first in five years) is a generous double album that features two distinct approaches from the band. The Berkeley album centers on the band’s classic Kerosene Hat lineup, with David Lowery, Johnny Hickman, bassist Davey Faragher, and drummer Michael Urbano settling into their twin-guitar rock mode for a loud, punkish song-oriented bash. The Bakersfield collection adds a number of guest musicians—including pedal steel guitarist Matt “Pistol” Stoessel and fiddle player Luke Moeller—for a convincing round of twang-fueled country music that eventually leads to the forlorn “When You Come Down.”

Maybe the most underrated band of the last 20+ years.

Hearing crackers new album, thinking back to Kerosene hat and beyond and in between, I really got to thinking of how great of a band they are.
With the amount of cliche imitation flat out crap that is pumped out daily these days, it truly is a shame that a band like this hasn't had more mainstream success.
I'm just glad they still put in the work.
Anyone who has never heard "I want everything" or their cover of "loser" (the greatful dead tune) needs to go listen to them. Kerosene hat was that album, with "stoned" which was the big single in mid 90's.
This new album stays true to their sound, but also shows they have evolved and modernized the sound as well.
It's amazing when bands can do that. The new ACDC album first single is another example.
Anyway, this is a great album. Keep them coming by buying some songs!

Better than Nickelback!

Really dig the country album, Bakersfield. Berkeley, not so much. Especially the so-called hit single, Waited my whole life. Sounds like a bad Wallflowers song

FYI

Their hit was named Low, not Stoned
