Hauntology's Apotheosis

As broadcast moved further from easily digestible electro-pop into hauntology's nether regions, they likely lost a good chunk of their audience, but for those with open ears, the evolution thrills. This soundtrack is more accessible than their previous work with The Focus Group and should be considered in the context of Soundtracks rather than stand-alone albums. The film is a bizarre marvel and the soundtrack should help puzzled viewers organize their thoughts about the film. Only a few tracks last as long as a standard pop song. Some of the small, sublime bits should be looped for infinite pleasure, but Broadcast was a fleeting entity and accepting that this most experimental, adventurous, and beloved band has gone to the ether as well makes for melancholy listening. Savor it, though. This is hauntology's apotheosis.

Could be better.

Suffers from cool bits that end way too soon.

I'll have to dig up their older stuff.
