Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 1 - Ravel: Rapsodie espagnole - Bizet: Carmen Suite
In 2014, two of classical music’s most renowned figures and frequent collaborators—pianist Martha Argerich and pianist/conductor Daniel Barenboim—returned to their birthplace for a monumental concert at Buenos Aires’ Teatro Colón. They sound right at home with the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra. After opening with a powerful performance of Beethoven's first piano concerto, the program includes an energetic reading of works by Ravel, Bizet’s first Carmen suite, and a lively tango by Argentine composer Mariano Mores.
